Intro: Defining True Confidence

Confidence. Boldness. Conviction. It is associated with notable characteristics and virtues like trustworthiness, strength, valour, LOVE, nobility, leadership (Kingship), wisdom…just to name a few. The eagle, lion, ant… the mighty and small are also associated with this esteemed term. In more recent developments across the world; when one stands us for what they believe in, it’s accredited to them as…? You guessed it right! 👏🏾

So what, then, is confidence?

Is it that feeling after making a big shot and nailing it? Is it the one we feel after solving a Rubik’s cube? Well, as any blogger would, here’s what the crème de la crème have to say:

Google – The feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something.

Cambridge Dictionary – The quality of being certain of your abilities or of having trust in people, plans, or the future

Merriam-Webster – Faith or belief that one will act in a right, proper, or effective way.

But Saem’s Blog isn’t about being like “any other blogger”, it’s about Jesus!

So, we’re gonna define Confidence the way Jesus defined things like love & prayer.

Practically! 😉

An approach that will help make out the word’s meaning. We’ll not just point out 👉🏾 the definition but, hopefully, you’ll be compelled to live it out on a daily. 😎

Challenging each other. Encouraging and rebuking each other (Yeap, tuck your toes…coz it soon will be Step-fest in here!) Confidence calls for going out of routine to do something of value to someone else. Confidence demands. It will require of you to trust. It will require some sacrifice. Some mindset renewal. Some good listening skills, coz God will be speaking…still does. Are you willing? Are you available?

Confidence will require a ready heart. A heart able to take on rebuke without going into fits of depression. A heart open to growth and more than what it thinks it can handle. A heart ready to love again after being broken “beyond repair”. A heart ready to accept an abusive parent’s sincere apology. A heart, not plastic, but ready for the drastic. Yes, confidence is more of a matter of the heart than anything else. Issues will spring out of that heart, but how strong are the gates to that heart? What happens when the issues flood over?

Well, we pray that our hearts gradually grow to be available for this…. a daily journey. A transformative trek! That when we realise there’s a certain life-defining power that can navigate our unanchored hearts’ ships away from destructive icebergs. As one Jordan Kauflin once shared;

“But as I ran my hell-bound race,

indifferent to the cost,

you looked upon my helpless state

and led me to the cross…”

Adapted from the song “All I Have is Christ” by Jordan Kauflin

A gracious power is at work in us. We can call. Not a number but, rather, a Name. A Great One indeed!. Belonging to the very embodiment of confidence. True confidence! 💪🏾

It’s a trek of faith, guys! Serious faith…heheeh😅. Wanna join us in this quest for how to live out truth? 🤔 😃Come be part of us on this adventure to find out what really defines our confidence. Is there more to it than just our hearts? What?

We’re just about to start…
